Raise in a musical family, I was performing on my violin at a young age. It was not until I was approached by Violinist, Carole Mayedo that I considered teaching this wonderful instrument. A career in music was daunting but I had dedicated mentors. As someone who has contributed to records, toured the world and competed on these instruments as a student, I am passionate about sharing the joy of music and what I know to the next generation.
In 2008 I apprenticed classical violin and viola pedagogy under Grammy Nominated Violinist, gold record recipient, and music educator Carole Mayedo. In 2009 I privately studied Suzuki pedagogy under Cathy Lee (a student of Shinichi Suzuki) in her San Francisco studio. These two ladies poured into me a wealth of knowledge I share with my students today.
I have a unique methodology (or program) which I take all my students through no matter their talent or age. My hybrid approach has helped me nurture fine musicians.
While my beginning students start off in the Suzuki Method of Violin playing, almost from the very start of their studies with me I integrate traditional etudes and scale studies unique to my teaching style.
